Saab 9-5 Saloon 2.3t SE 4d (1999/V) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Drove the car for 3 years on company lease, then bought it at trade price :)
Costs
Dealer costs a bit high, but then you kind of expect that these days.

On the road
Driving
Great on motorways, less great going round corners fast. But then with the roads being so busy these days, how many corners do you get to go round fast?
Performance
After 4 years driving the same car, the performance still impresses me.

Living with it
Reliability
Apart from new rear shock absorbers, nothing has gone wrong in 50,000 miles.
Image
Well I think it looks good. I don't care what anyone else thinks
Comfort
Longest non-stop drive I've done is 5 hours, but this doesn't seem to be long enough to start to find anything wrong with the seat comfort. This is easily the best seating of any car I've been in (including the German competition).

Security and Service
Security
No-one's ever bothered trying to break in or steal it. I think they know it's a waste of time.
Service
Dealer staff are hard to fault.

Other
Rear shock absorbers replaced after 49,000 miles - and they are 'dealer-fit' only, so I couldn't get the price down.
