I first saw a silver drop-head Saab 900 Turbo parked near Michigan Avenue one Sunday morning in Chicago in 1986. They had just come out. I had a white 3 door 1984 Saab at the time and that was a cool car. But I took one look at that drophead Saab 900 and I thought... that car must be the coolest car ever. I have never changed my mind and now I have one myself. It just took 33 years. But it was worth it!
How reliable do you find the car?
It had been garaged for 5 years so many flexible parts needed replacing - tyres, hoses etc. I had the gearbox removed and rebuilt as it was slipping out of reverse. That meant removing the engine first.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
It is engaging to drive. The roadholding is excellent.About their car
