Saab 9000 Hatchback 2.0 CS S 5d (LPT) (1993/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
You get a lot of toys for your money.
Costs
Even with such an elderly car, the parts and servicing costs are toe-curlingly expensive.
-
On the road
Driving
Clumsy, ponderous, heavy and noisy, but inexplicably addictive.
Performance
Ho, hum. Rolls like the Seacat in a Force 9, but still manages to keep up with the Germans.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Always something going wrong. Unreliable turbos, dismal gearboxes and snatchy clutches on every Saab I've ever owned. Second gear synchromesh always dodgy on every single one!
Image
Not actively embarassing, but still looking very eighties.
Comfort
Armchair comfort, but still a feeling of sitting on rather than in.
-
Security and Service
Security
Nobody has nicked it yet. Hmmmm!
Service
Diabolically expensive with very unhelpful local dealer. If it ain't new they ain't interested.
