Saab 9000 Hatchback 2.0i 5d (1987/D) Owner Review

Economy
Costs
Probably one of the best 'large' second-hand buys around - this one cost me £2000 in 1995 and has cost me virtually nothing since.

On the road
Driving
Have driven it on trips which range from 8mins to 8 hours and never a hint of backache or any problem with the driver position. Excellent experience as a car to drive!
Performance
Not as good as the turbo models, but not bad either.

Living with it
Reliability
Has let me down once in 7 years when the gear-linkage broke, but otherwise totally reliable.
Image
Well, once you get past the fact that it's a big grandad car and not a go-kart, it's actually extremely cool (and as with all Saabs, just a bit quirky as well!)
Comfort
Good all-round.

Security and Service
Security
I dont think it's great, as I can break in on the occasions I've left the keys in it... why oh why didn't they put the same 'locked in reverse' feature which is in the 900?
