Summary
What does this car say about you?
Junior management, perhaps its seens as a bit of an older gents car, but its classy without being too flash, stylish without being OTT
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
With bodykit - a real headturner, people didn't know what type of car it was - looked totally different from a standard 9000. Otherwise looking dated now, but still has certain appeal
Would you buy this car again and why?
No - already had two Saab 9000s - want something more modern next time - would consider a 9-5 but alas they also have a reputation for being expensive to fix.
What are you likely to buy next?
Mondeo or Vectra diesel

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Big car to negotiate around town. Amazing on motorways. 2.3 normally aspirtated petrol engine is adequate - not slow, but just brisk nothing more , nothing less. Best opt for the turbo version if you want a 9000 that really flies. Carlsson turbo is a widow maker and is for seasoned drivers only. 2.3 has plenty of mid range grunt. Comfortable on a run but can be tiring round town as it is a big old heavy barge. Cabin is a bit dull. I wouldnt have another one, but whilst I had it I was overall extremely pleased with it.
What's it like to park?
Heavy steering a low speeds despite power assistance

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Engine mounts needed replacing, some electrical wiring, othe rbits and bobs. Make no mistake folks be prepared to have you walet emptied / house re- mortgaged / look for secondary employment when things go wrong - can be astronimcally expensive to fix Recommend finding a good independant specialist for all repairs - but even then it will still cost.
What's most practical about your car?
big, comfy, unbelievably solid.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
