Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm not one for making statements. I don't really care qhat people think but I am pleased with it's individuality. You don't see many about - unlike the Yaris that I nearly bought.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They love it although most people have never heard of an 'Altea'.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, although I don't intend to change it for a while. I can't see anything on the horizon that would tempt me away from my Altea.
What are you likely to buy next?
an XF (if I win some money on the lottery)

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,500
When did you buy the car?
July 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
17 months old, 3,000 miles on the clock, previously owned by SEAT UK, £6,000 less than a new one - this was an excellent deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
An excellent combination of build quality, reliability, economy and a good drive. It's a VW Golf underneath plus you don't see many about.
What was the dealer like?
Cannot praise them highly enough (Coupers of St.Albans). The guy was knowledgeable and courteous. Excellent customer care.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I love it. The engine sounds great and has just the right amount of power when you need it, yet it will still return 50+mpg if driven sensibly. The gearbox is superb.
What's it like to park?
I don't agree with some of the motoring media that this car has restricted visibility to the rear; it's fine.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Hasn't missed a beat.
What's most practical about your car?
It's slightly higher so therefore easier to get in & out of.
