SEAT Arona SUV FR 1.0 TSI 115PS (07/2018 on) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Bought the car to replace a 2015 Skoda Fabia, as we needed one with a slightly higher driving position and room to put 2 child seats in. We were impressed by the amazingly powerful headlights, which are a real bonus, driving on mainly county roads. The car we tested was an 'Excellence' model, but the deals on the similarly priced 'FR' meant that this was the one we bought.
Plus points: superb headlights, economical, punchy engine, reasonable handling
Negative points: Very uncomfortable seats, only dark headlining available, NO rear internal light, making getting children into car seats almost impossible in the dark, no rear ventilation vents, no rear charging ports.
Anyone who is thinking of transporting passengers, especially children should look more carefully than we did, before considering this particular SEAT model. For two people, it's just about acceptable, but it's siblings, from VW and Skoda are far superior. When we purchased the Arona, the VW T-Cross had only just been introduced and there were no deals available. The Skoda Kamiq had not yet been introduced!
We definitely would not buy another Arona and I would suggest anyone with one of these on their 'shortlist' to check out the car's cost-cutting features more carefully than we did, before purchasing!
How reliable do you find the car?
Rear offside window motor failed after 6 months and had to be replaced under warranty.
Rear nearside c pillar trim came loose at about 18 months old and was replaced under warranty.
Bad rear trim rattle investigated on two occasions. Dealers failed to cure.
Internal dashboard rattle sorted after 2 years.
