SEAT Ateca SUV 1.4 TSI Xcellence 5d Owner Review

Having owned a Seat Leon Technoligy for 4 years it was easy to adjust to the Ateca as most controls are the same, clear and precise switches excellent infotainment system and a confortable commanding seating position with height adjustment on both front seats which are leather, extremely supporting and heated. This top of the range version ,as you would expect, has all you need as standard and uprating a lower model can end up costing more but adds little to no value. I only added a Space Saver Spare Wheel to the standard spec. Superb to drive, with excellent road holding, like the Leon Hatch, and in Sport Mode is quite nippy. I've only covered 1000 miles but managed to average 45 to the gallon. Should now be slacking off a bit. Suspension is quite firm and rides the bumps much better with the tyre pressures set at 32psi. They were all 38psi on delivery. Disappointing is the fact that every time the ignition is turned off the Driving Profile automatically reverts to Normal Mode even though it may say Eco on the dash, so therefore your choice has to be set every time you start a journey or continue one. The alloy wheels fitted on this model, 18", are very difficult to clean, there is no free option to change at purchase. Also there is no choice with the colour of the roof lining which is black and makes it somewhat dark inside. Overall though I find this Ateca to be excellent value for money especially as I bought it through an online broker with£3000 plus off list price.
