SEAT Ateca SUV 2.0 TDI Xcellence 4WD 5d DSG Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
At 25800 miles I got in to go home from work back in Nov 19 and was greeted by a buzzer going off along with a red steering wheel on the dash. It said steering lock faulty do not drive and wouldn't allow me to turn on the ignition so i couldn't even get the electric hand brake off, also the hand book showing you how to get the DSG box into neutral was a totally different box to the one on my Ateca!! and nobody seemed to know how to do it. Long and short of it SEAT about as much use as a chocolate teapot, one of their garages not even getting back to me after twice calling them and somebody picking the phone up and putting it straight back down again. I had a diagnostic van check out the lock and nothing he could do so ended up costing me £80 Diagnostics £500 for a new steering lock Module £350 to reprogram the Module to the ecu on the car and £250 labour charges from the local garage along with the VAT on top. For the top of the range model there is a lot left of this car as extras that should be standard kit, Blind spot detection and hands free tail lift are a couple that come to mind. Overall this is a nice car but since this issue with the Steering lock I don't feel that confident with the reliability of the car now.
How reliable do you find the car?
