Summary
What does this car say about you?
Different from the crowd, more stylish than a Golf whilst keeping the VW engineering.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it. All have said how nice it feels to be in and how smooth it is.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yeah, I really like it. Though the MPG isn't as advertised. When driving carefully with little or no traffic I can average about 47mpg, but the quoted 55mpg is unattainable for a combined cycle. Mostly I get about 42-45mpg on the daily commute.
What are you likely to buy next?
No idea, only just got this one and plan on keeping it for a while.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£11,795
When did you buy the car?
November 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
It was ok, kind of got what I expected. Bit disappointed they couldn't knock much off of the asking price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Loved the looks and the performance without being expensive to run.
What was the dealer like?
Friendly, helpful. Felt slightly disorganised though as they forgot to fit the door trim accessories I opted for when I turned up to collect the car, but they fitted them there and then, so no problem.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Really smooth, quiet and feels as though you're driving something much more expensive (i.e. like my Mum's Audi A3). I can't compare it to my old MX-5, but it's still great to drive. Makes a great noise when you want it to! Turbo gives it real kick.
What's it like to park?
Easy with parking sensors. Otherwise, the rear visibility isn't great, but it's not bad either.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only a few niggles. Developed a slightly annoying squeaking sound on bumpy roads coming somewhere on the drivers side interior. Boot seemed to be shut quite firmly to shut properly but seems to have resolved itself now. I think the mechanism just needed a bit of lubrication.
What's most practical about your car?
Having more than two seats, front wheel drive and use of a decent boot! After parting with my lovely MX-5 I'm not used to these things!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
There's so many gadgets on this car it's fantastic! But I have to say I really love the headlights that turn as you go round a bend. They light the road so effectively!
