What does this car say about you?

Potentially screams boy racer? Pockets could not quite stretch to a Polo GTI.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all agree that it's a good looking car however can't understand why there had been no recall if the oil consumption issues were rife across the Volkswagen Audi group.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely not. Although car is a appealing aesthetically, the 1.4 TSI engine is a far too risky buy. I am lead to believe that the twincharged variants of these engines which is in this particular car (or should I say in bits on a workshop floor) have now been discontinued.

Golf GTD.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Reasonable deal with a £500 deposit contribution.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Good looks and enticed by the combined performance and economy.

What was the dealer like?

Reasonable. Although they weren't very knowledgeable about the car they were very help.

What's it like to drive?

Engine issues aside the car is sublime to drive, the DSG gearbox is smooth and the engine packs real punch despite it's small size.

What's it like to park?

Reverse parking can be tricky as vision is obscured with smaller rear window on SC models.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes. Oil consumption is horrendous, had to top it up on a 2 weekly basis which was around a litre every 600-700 miles. The engine then failed as a direct result of the oil consumption and is currently dismantled at a VW dealership awaiting the green light from my extended warranty.

What's most practical about your car?

Boot capacity is generous despite the size of the car.
