Value
Fantastic value compared to others in it's class.
Costs
Fuel running costs were okay, averaging about 34 mpg for combined urban and extra urban driving. Servicing costs about average.

On the road
Driving
Handling great in the dry but rather mediocre in the wet even on recommended top spec tyres. Solid, stiff ride due to the sporting pedigree. Very responsive.
Performance
Superb, best thing I like about the car. Golf Mk3 2.0 16v engine in a Polo chasis? A lot of punch for the pound.

Living with it
Reliability
Mechanically very sound, chasis solid VW quality. Electrics and electrical components proved to be somewhat unreliable.
Image
Still think it is more stylish than the later models of Cupras, great colours with 16"" white alloy wheels which although sounds tasteless work very well.
Comfort
Very Golf like inside, solid black plastic. Comfortable seats half leather, adequate headroom in all quarters.
