What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 31 - 58 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

In terms of service costs it’s pretty similar to a VW Polo, although hourly labour rates are usually lower at a SEAT dealer. Insurance starts at group 4 and even the hot 16V Cupra is only group 14. Fuel consumption returns are excellent, over 40 mpg for the smaller petrol engines whilst the diesels manage a healthy 50 to 60 mpg.
VW connection and solid build quality mean relatively trouble-free ownership; some minor problems reported with electrics.
