SEAT Ibiza Hatchback (1993-1999) boot space, practicality and safety

(change model)
Although not Euro NCAP tested, the Ibiza ought to score similarly highly to the Polo’s three stars. However, the majority of standard safety features are reserved for the GTi models. You get driver and passenger airbags on the 16v, along with ABS brakes and a third rear three-point seat belt in the back. Driver airbags are fitted to only three other models.
Entry-level Estilo and diesels have an engine immobiliser and nothing more. Further up the range remote locking and alarms become part of the package.
There’s a decent-sized boot that should be up to everyday tasks, like shopping and carting around the kids’ stuff. A few small storage areas inside, but nothing special.
