Buying experience

Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£5,500
When did you buy the car?
April 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Nothing particular, just a small independent trader.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had the 1.4 cool/s before. after a 1.3 Micra I found it too slow, too thirsty, terrible brakes, bit squidgy but still nice to drive. The TDi Sport sorted all these issues.
What was the dealer like?
As good as the species gets.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Feels a bit "caged up" in town, been a diesel often between gears, not a town car I guess. Brilliant on the open road. Good fuel economy; A road use (even playing silly buggers) rarely drops below 56mpg and steady runs see 58mpg, sitting at 80+ on the m/way eats into this down to 54mpg.
What's it like to park?
Easy

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Clutch pedal snapped, utterly unique breakdown. Local garage welded it up for me. Eat it's clutch and assorted components at 64K miles - I think the previous owner may have abused it, setting off in 2nd that sort of thing.
What's most practical about your car?
Hatchback, good 55mpg.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
n/a, all standard.
