Bought my Ibiza 2004 used and it served the purpose of being my first car quite well. A sporty drive and positive engine note made it feel quicker than it was. It was basic but functional. Handling very good and comfortable enough ride for short journeys, certainly wouldn't have been ideal for longer distances.
There were a few issues, 2x Window regulators breaking and suspension ball joints were particularly weak that contributed towards eventually selling the car before anymore serious issues developed.
Overall I would say decent but better off buying a Yaris or Jazz which is a more solid car
