SEAT Ibiza 1.2 SX 3d (2004/04) Owner Review

Economy
Value
There's nothing like it for the price. Mainly VW parts.
Costs
Average really - main dealer servicing is always expensive. Use Nationwide (formerly AA) Autocentres instead. Reasonably economical.

Driving
Good around town, solid ride, motorway driving is OK. Noise is only downfall really. Some people ask "is this a diesel?".
Performance
I have to say the 1.2 isn't the fastest for a hatchback which is not tiny. OK once its going, but for a young driver in a hurry - feel it needs ragging a bit!

Living with it
Reliability
Been great - solid as a rock up to now. Don't see why that would change. Engine components all look good quality. However one of the front brake callipers has not been closing flush on the disc, evident by a rust patch on 50% of it.
Image
Not bad at all. Certainly not embarrassing. This is the wife's car, but I'm never too bothered about driving it (dark metallic colour though). Rear end looks ace I think? Nice alloys too.
Comfort
Everything in right place, climate control, electric windows, auto locking, etc etc. Its OK!

Security and Service
Security
Not a stealable car, but still decent central locking, auto locks after drive off and auto locks if unlocked then not entered. Stuff like that makes it better than other cars.

Other
One brake calliper doesn't close properly. Doesn't seem to affect braking, but 50% of disc is rusting without contact from pad. Will contact dealer (not done yet).
