SEAT Ibiza 1.9TDi FR 3d (2004/54) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Excellent, I bought it at 3 months old for £10k (£3K saving) with 500 miles, as it was pre-reg'd and then had one owner. Who cares when you're getting 5 years AA cover, 3 years warranty and all of that spec for £10K!
Costs
None apart from fuel so far. Insurance very good and warranty/ assistance package will save me a few pounds over the years.

On the road
Driving
Still running it in (4K miles), but it holds the road extremely well and feels very solid every time you close the door.
Performance
Amazing from the lights and great at overtaking, it is so effortless to drive in most situations, just press gently and you're there before you know it. Sometimes runs out of puff, but you just have to change up the 6 gears a little quicker to keep going.

Living with it
Reliability
It hasn't let me down yet, but it's not yet 6 months old. It has just had a recall though for a fuel pipe fitting. It does like to pull to the left if you steer with just one hand, which takes getting used to. Steering can be too heavily weighted.
Image
I like the image. Understated yet powerful and stylish. Looks beautiful when clean and has a nice aggressive stance you'd expect of this car.
Comfort
It sometimes feels like i'm on a rollercoaster, but what can you expect when you drive a sport model?

Security and Service
Security
It's still on the driveway and it's nice to know it's immobilised and alarmed when I lock it. Self locking doors are good, especially in busy inner city traffic.
Service
WJ King of Sidcup never returned calls after I'd signed to buy it. Colliers of Birmingham take ages to get through to and get you booked in, but seem efficient & helpful enough when car is there.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Recall for a potential problem with diesel pump fuel pipe housing.
Other
Pulls to the left a bit, it's booked in to have rattling speaker on passenger door looked at and noisy wiper stalk. Small washer reservoir is useless for regular motorway driving! Glovebox fit isn't very good, but i'll live!
