SEAT Ibiza 1.9TDi Sport 5d (2003/03) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Saved £2000 at car supermarket. £14,000 main dealer price a bit high.
Costs
50+mpg as well as kick-in-the-back acceleration suits me just fine. Group 7 insurance too.

On the road
Driving
Handling good, but not a patch on my wife's Focus - steering a bit light at speed, though precise.
Performance
As soon as you reach 1600rpm, there's a rush of acceleration which is a hoot!
-
Living with it
Reliability
Early days, but everything works so far.
Image
Ok so it's not a VW. Neither's a Fabia, but they're both better than a Polo.
Comfort
Stiff ride - more joggly over bumps than I'd like. Needs better dampers.
-
Security and Service
Security
Like Fort Knox, e.g. if you accidently unlock doors with remote then don't open one within 30 secs - they all lock again.
Service
Not had it serviced yet.

Problems and Ownership

Other
Early days, but very impressed so far.
