SEAT Leon Cupra R (2002 - 2005) 1.8 20V (225ps) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
The car is great, if you like your hot hatches, a fair amount of exclusivity as there isn't many around now and aren't too fussed about driving something new the have a look at these. Great to drive, practical, reliable and good looking. Only things that bother me on my car is the lack of armrest and no cruise control both of which can be retrofitted with factory parts. Insurance isn't cheap however, I am 20 and that's the norm for this type of car.
The car rewards you for driving it hard, it's aggressive on boost and playful through the bends. It's rather old school in terms of hot hatches nowadays but wont be made to look silly against more modern equivalents. Driven hard the average MPG wont be much more than 15 but on a long run 40 is achievable with 27-35 mpg being my average on my daily commute.
In a nutshell, a pretty good all-rounder which ticks most boxes without breaking the bank as parts are easily attainable and a decent, well kept low mileage examples are sitting around the £3-£4,000 mark.
How reliable do you find the car?
I've owned the car for 11 Months and have done 11,000 miles and the only faults I've had to rectify were a faulty brake light switch leaving me with no brake lights and I replaced the oil pick up pipe as these are prone to sludge build up.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.About their car
