SEAT Leon Hatchback 1.8 20V T Sport 5d (2000/X) Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

Economy
Value
A heck of a lot of car for the money
Costs
Only had car 2 months: Insurance hefty and unable to better 33mpg (...but that's not really the point of this car!!)
-
On the road
Driving
Smooth, free-revving engine, comfy for 4 - a bit snug for 5, very well appointed
Performance
Awesome: In-gear acceleration means constant grin.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Built to VW standards, so shouldn't be a concern. No probes in first 2 months ownership, anyhow
Image
Understated and unassuming before SEAT went a bit racier from 2002 onwards. Still an unsung hero in my book
Comfort
Plenty of seat/steering adjustment, and still I'm struggling to find ideal driving position. Lack of adjustable lumbar support seems a curious omission when you consider rest of spec?!!

Security and Service
Security
Dealer insisted that standard alarm/immobiliser were Thatcham approved? (Then why did previous owner fit additional immobiliser??)
Service
Too soon to comment. I'll come back when the car gets it's 1st service under my ownership
