In their own words
We bought this to replace an ageing Rover 75 CDTi touring, and the Seat is night and day, where the rover felt agricultural and slow witted, the Seat is agile, very responsive and quick for a diesel, vastly improved build quality over the 75 as well, overall a serious upgrade on the Rover. The only thing is despite its 181 bhp and 380 Nm of torque it sometimes isn’t as quick in the real world as the urgent acceleration feeling would suggest, remember this car is technically identical to the Golf GTD, having the same MQB platform and Powertrain, but for my money the Seat is a better looker than the Golf. Inside the car is packed full of features and gadgets and all of it is recognisable from other VW/Audi models, the instrument pack is identical to an Audi A3, and a lot of other controls are Golf or A3 sourced , but the design of the dash is unique to the Leon, and is far nicer than the VW/Audi brethren. The load compartment is very generous with a variable height floor and as usual nowadays, it has no spare wheel, just a pump and a can of tyre gunge, but it has a proper spare wheel well, so carrying a spare is possible.
