SEAT Toledo 2.0 GT 16V 5d (1996/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Cheap as chips VW servicing. Although expensive main dealer bits if anything specific to the car fails.
Costs
My 2.0 16v gt has averaged 34mpg for the last 4 years! can get 40+ on a run, 30 round town.

On the road
Driving
Lively engine, pulls like a steam train from 4,000rpm in 2nd. Goes on until 7,000!... 135mph plus, if allowed!!
Performance
Has frightened Mr MK4 Golf GTi man, on every occasion. Real motorway car, in 4th gear just flys to 100 in no time.

Living with it
Reliability
All VW parts, so no problems.
Image
Not bad looking, but today looks decidedly 90's, but who cares!!! a GTi thrasher for less than £1,500 and when you tell them really it's a VW... silence is golden!
Comfort
16v gt is quite harsh in standard form, if you are sporty then no probs here I supect, tyres too thin 195/50 for car.Fitting 205/55 improves comfort slightly.

Security and Service
Security
No worries for me... touch wood, but anonymity helps here!
Service
Dealers seem to also deal in others as well and do not ""specialise in seat""
