Skoda Fabia Estate (2001 - 2007) 1.4 16V Comfort (75bhp) 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Don’t be a badge snob, this car is better than any other small estate and behaves exemplary. It is at home doing 60 through winding lanes as it is doing the school run, rush hour or occasional motorway trip. It is cheap to run, is German engineered (produced on Audi production lines) and has been a pleasure to own for 6 years, if it wasn’t for my back issues I would never have had to sell it on.
How reliable do you find the car?
I had a battery fail but it was apparently on the original one from build so it did very well. It also so had the famous puddle in the offside rear passenger footwell, however the garage fixed this on their third attempt and I always got a decent courtesy car. Towards the end of my ownership I had it stall a few times despite it being an automatic. This usually happened in start stop traffic but I could never source the fault!!Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The MPG for a 1.4ltr automatic amazed me, very nice for city driving and occasional trips to other counties, for drives exceeding 1.5 hours the seats could do with being a bit more comfortable and a higher seating position would be welcome. The bootspace is like the TARDIS and the car willingly moves anything you put in it with little change to handling.About their car
