Skoda Fabia Estate (2015 - 2021) 1.2 TSI S 5d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
For a "small" estate car, the fabia can pack an amazing amount of stuff. Over the years we've been four or five up on an airport run plus all the luggage and it just about copes. The DSG has become a little hesitant in the last 12 months but this seems to be a characteristic according to online forums. It handles very well and is comfortable although the DSG/auto is rubbish on snow so we invested in quality all season tyres which made a huge difference. With good mpg and only £20 road tax it's cheap to run. Having turned 5 years recently it's been our most expensive maintenance visit as it was due a timing belt, front and rear discs/pads, tyres, oil service and mot. We use a specialist to keep costs lower and it's never been back to a franchised dealer since the day it was collected new although we ensured only Genuine Skoda Service Parts to maintain the 3 year warranty. The white paintwork is a nightmare with bird crap and the roof is badly marked as a result but local body shop can sort it for reasonable cost - not sure a different colour would resist the marks any better though. We ordered a basic model then added the bits we needed/wanted to keep the cost down so ours has a/c, cruise, heated seats and automatic gears. Also bought it on Skoda finance zero % Apr, £1000 deposit contribution and saved 8% off list price through Carwow. Any cheaper they'd be paying us! This is our third Skoda and to be honest, beyond the badge snobbery, I don't know why people stump up the extra for an Audi or VW.....unless it's a company car!
