Value
Excellent for the money.
Costs
None so far - still under warranty. Fuel economy fairly good at 42mpg. Cheap tax, too.

On the road
Driving
We previously had a Polo 1.6GLX (96M) and the Fabia is better in every respect. It's quicker, handles better, looks better... what more is there to say?
Performance
See above. Plenty quick enough for most purposes. Cruises happily at 70mph (honest) on the motorway. Could be nippier around town, but picks up noticably above 3000rpm (aren't 16v's great!)

Living with it
Reliability
No problems.
Image
As good, if not better than any other supermini. Anyone with half a brain knows they're getting a new Polo for considerably less money.
Comfort
The front seats could do with a little more lateral support, but I defy anyone not to find a comfortable driving position.

Security and Service
Security
Not tested, although we did have an alarm fitted for peace of mind (this really ought to be standard).
Service
Nothing is too much trouble for our local dealer (Fish Brothers, Swindon) although the car's still under warranty. Ask me again in 12 months time.
