Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm someone who cares more about function than fashion.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Very positive - Mum likes it as it is easier to get in and out of than Dad's Saab...
Would you buy this car again and why?
Unsure - I have a few concerns over reliability and spare parts availability.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another small hatchback - preferably one a bit cheaper to run.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,500
When did you buy the car?
October 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Reasonable - gave me a fair price for my old car.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good reviews. Recommended by a friend.
What was the dealer like?
Salesman pleasant and enthusiastic. Aftersales service could be better. They do not always take your problems seriously - or fix them. Sometimes I do think they try and fob you off. Parts can sometimes be hard to get. Have started taking it to an independent specialist, who is a lot better.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
A little sluggish at times - it is a fairly hefty car. Cruises quite happily on the motorway. Handling fine, brakes quite good. Gearchange not always terribly smooth and slick.
What's it like to park?
Not too bad - view out the back a bit restricted, but no more so than a lot of other cars. Power steering useful.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few things - Wheel bearings, electronic sensors, brake light switch, thermostat, brakes can stick on if not used for a few days, one-touch feature of electric windows not working. Has also required a few suspension parts and a new starter motor.
What's most practical about your car?
Roomy for it's size, boot reasonably big, easy to fold the rear seats down, big glovebox plus a few useful cubby holes. Comfortable seats.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
ABS brakes.
