Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I'm older than I look? Very very "sensible" car
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Unexciting but solid. Not ugly but pretty forgettable styling.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, I've moved on and need something with more of everything! It's really better suited to being someone's first car or the missus' little run about.
What are you likely to buy next?
I bought a Ford Cougar 2.5 V6! After 2 years of driving a non-turbo diesel I thought I deserved it!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,400
When did you buy the car?
March 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Saved thousands...as it had 150,000 on the clock! Averaged over 100 miles a day since new! Wasn't too worried as it's a VW diesel after all.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
A 2.5 year old car for £2400...and a vast improvement on the clapped out 13 old banger I was driving at the time.
What was the dealer like?
Normal shifty 2nd-hand car dealer. I knew more about the car than he did. Whined when I'd sold my car and gave him the p/x value in cash. How he expected to make a profit on a 13 year old Pug 306 is anyone's guess?!!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Slow...but not as bad as many reviews make out. I kept it for 2 years and I did over 50,000 miles on all types of road and it was fine if you're not after a sports or executive car.
What's it like to park?
Easy - all-round visibility is excellent and it's quite compact.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
After 150,000 miles it needed new rear suspension bushes (understandably!) and after 2 years of driving (200,000 on the clock) the clutch was starting to slip. Not bad!!
What's most practical about your car?
Fuel economy, inexpensive parts & servicing. Totally reliable in all weather.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It was a 'Classic' model so had almost no gadgets at all....errr...headlights? rear screen demister? lol
