Skoda Fabia Hatchback 1.9 SDI Comfort 5d (AC) (2002/02) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Needs more zip for the money. But good build quality.
Costs
V Economical @ 55mpg. Low maintenance. Low emissions.
-
On the road
Driving
Positive gearbox.
Performance
Very poor acceleration. Brakes not sharp, but steering is responsive. Engine is fine at steady motorway speeds but needs more power on long hills.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Starts first time every time.
Image
Nothing special, but so what. Just remember the saving over a similar VW. Why the duff green winged arrow logo - looks just like a chicken's head!
Comfort
Roomy enough for a 6ft 5"" driver. Suspension comfortable unlike VW. Rear passengers approve. Comfortable at speed, but suffers wind noise.

Security and Service
Security
Cannot advise. But get a Stoplok Pro....and use it.
Service
Used two dealers - both were helpful and efficient.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
No problems.
Other
Sensor on pas replaced. Water entered via window seals then door panels so dealer had to silicone seal - a recognised problem. Suffers badly from winter condensation.
