Summary
What does this car say about you?
Whilst the Skoda badge may not be as desirable as a VW one, the value for money and build quality makes it a thinking man's alternative to a Polo.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
It has changed their attitude towards the Skoda brand.
Would you buy this car again and why?
As a first year driver I would definitely choose this car again due to the excellent running costs, reliability and ease of use.
What are you likely to buy next?
I will probably stick with Skoda and get an Octavia.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent visibility and smooth gearbox makes it very easy to drive. Around town it is very manoeuvrable thanks to a small turning circle and light steering. It is not the most exciting car to take into the bends, and it can be a little sluggish when motorway overtaking.
What's it like to park?
Very easy indeed. All round visibility and large door mirrors as well as very light steering at low speeds means small spaces are a breeze.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The only fault that has occurred is an occasional emissions light indication caused by the oxygen sensor. A VAG specialist has looked at this and suggests that it will not cause any problems.
What's most practical about your car?
Excellent boot space and headroom throughout. Large door bins take 2-litre bottles comfortably. Folding rear seats very easy to use and fold completely flat. Having a full size spare wheel under the boot sets it aside from most modern compact cars.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The little touches from Skoda such as clips for holding documents in glovebox and car passes to windscreen, as well as large handle for closing boot (without getting your hands dirty).
