A great small car that does whgat it says on the tin.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. But only when the engine fault has been corrected.
What are you likely to buy next?
Maybe another Fabia. Who knows? depends what VW & Skoda do about the engine flaw issue.

Did you get a good deal and why?
The price for this range topping model was good, given the part exchange deal on the Mondeo.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Having had 4 previous Skodas, Favorit, Felicia x2 and Fabia, we looked to replace my Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (130) with a smaller car as we no longer needed the space of the Mondeo. The current Fabia is a 1.4TDI and, as this is no longer available, we opted for the 1.6TDI to replace the Mondeo. WHAT A DISAPPONTMENT !

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The 1.6TDI(105) is bigger than the 1.4TDI (80) so, you'd expect it to be much better. WRONG ! the 26,000 mile 1.4 can run rings around the 1.6. Its more even now that its reached 12,000 miles. But the 1.4 still has it licked.
What's it like to park?
Parks on a sixpence and the rear parking sensors sure help. Shame you cannot see the front corners but, you cannot have everything.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
There have been two faults: 1. A rattle from the Offside rear quarter. Sorted under warranty. 2. Potentially fatal fault with the 1.6TDI engine which VW & Skoda claim is a 'feature'. It'll be some 'feature' when someone gets killed by it.
What's most practical about your car?
The size and nimbleness of the car is great.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Having come from a Mondeo Zetec, I so miss the heated screen. Even more so now the frosty mornings and white stuff is falling !
