Should you buy a used Skoda Fabia?
As long as you’re comfortable with the fact that it’s not remotely exciting or dynamic, then yes. The Fabia is an eminently sensible used buy that’s great value. It makes an ideal first car, with low insurance costs, but also an excellent second car or even a smaller family’s only transport.Â
It’s spacious and practical and with a few exceptions has so far proven reliable. We’d recommend opting for one of the earlier 1.2 or 1.4-litre engines which are as simple as they come, but the later 1.2-litre turbo is also excellent if looked after. The diesels are good for high-mileage drivers, and have the potential for frankly ridiculous mpg.
