You don't follow the sheep and buy a Ford.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All loved it and couldn't believe how Skoda has come on over the years.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would but I'd buy the Blue limited edition version as you get aload more spec for very little more money.
What are you likely to buy next?
Honda Civic Type S - Would love the new shape Fabia TSI vRS but hearing to many bad stories about the engine.........shame!!

Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,700
When did you buy the car?
June 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Feel I got a good deal, It had only had 1 owner with full Skoda service history, was as new and came with the remainder of the factory warranty.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Loved the whites seats and styling of the exterior. Plus on the test drive I couldn't believe the power for 1.9tdi and the gear change was slick. Also the grip was amazing!!
What was the dealer like?
Skoda cambridge were friendly but wouldn't move much on price considering it was cash.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Well driving it was superb. Plenty of torque and a good top end. 6th gear box was perfect and road handling was the best I'd driven so far. No body role at all. Plus it does surprise some cars at the lights when all they can see is you in front and a cloud of black smoke!! :).
What's it like to park?
Parking was never an issue.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The car never failed regardless of weather. Tyres were expensive for the Michelin Pilot Excel considering they were only 16" but they did grip well and last. Also the rear doors leaked which is very common but Skoda sorted this under warranty. Service every 10k was a pain but it was worth it to keep it tip top. The last thing, and this was the only reason why I sold it was its common for the centre console bushes to need replacing every 40k. I had them replaced with some upgraded poly bushes but the car was never the same and caused alot of vibration through the steering wheel. But having said that I really miss it now its gone!!
What's most practical about your car?
Fairly good but boot not the deepest, then again it is based on the Polo chassis. Plenty of room in the front. Controls neatly laid out but if your a messy person then the seats will get destroyed.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control is a must.
