Cheap to buy.

Very cheap to run. 40mpg+. Cheap parts, simple design.

Performance adequate, if a bit noisy. More power wouldn't go amiss, but chassis may not like it!

Has factory immobiliser. No-one has ever tried to steal it...

Skoda dealers (when used) were good value and efficient. Car now serviced by independents.

Now at 95,000 miles and no problems.
Other
in 55,000 miles, apart from routine items it has needed 1 exhaust, 1 battery, 1 alternator and 1 thermoswitch. The battery and alternator were replaced under my used car warranty.
