Skoda Karoq SUV SE L 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 5d Owner Review
In their own words
I loved the skoda yeti and find the karoq a disappointment as it lacks the funky looks and driveability of the yeti. Skoda seem to have fallen into line and produced a medium sized suv that competes with all the rest. This means it's boring to look at and boring to drive and just has different pros and cons to all its competitors. Overall the karoq is just OK, but that's all and that isn't very satisfactory when you have shelled out near 29k! If you want a more distinctive looking suv that is good to drive them buy a mazda Cx5. What I should have done was buy a 1 year old kia with 6 years warrenty. Yes the kia would have been a bit rougher around the edges but 12k cheaper! So why did I buy the karoq? Because I love my wife and she loves the karoq. Personally I don't like it that much and it's a car you may find you drive because you have to, not because you want to.
Pros Well built. Comfortable. Very easy to drive. Good cruiser on motorways.
Cons Doesn't look anything special. Good quality interior without flare or style. OK to drive but not engaging like the yeti or Cx5. Good grip and positive steering but wallows a bit and feels bulky or large to drive. Strangely the larger kodiaq feels smaller and more engaging to drive. 2 litre diesel pulls well but is a bit noisy and rough which suited the yeti but not the more refined ride of the karoq. Sport and off road driving modes a bit pointless without the dynamic chassis control. Differences between the karoq and its competitors don't seem large enough to make it stand out. Uses the add blue solution to reduce emissions and this is a faff and is an additional cost. Vario flex seats do not fold flat.
How reliable do you find the car?
It's new so I wouldn't expect problems.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Lost all the fun and individuality of the yeti. Now a competent car that is boring to look at and to drive.About their car
