Skoda Kodiaq SUV (2017 - 2023) SE L (7-seat) 2.0 TSI 180PS 4x4 DSG auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
A great great car let down my some annoying quality issues. I've often wondered whether the failure and breaking of plastic components and trim has been down to heavy handedness by my family. I have 3 children, 2 rugged lads of 13 and 10. I also run an 18 year old Audi Allroad. The lads spend a lot of time in that too....nothing has broken. If you want Audi level quality, buy an Audi.
How reliable do you find the car?
Mechanically the car has been spot on. It is powerful, smooth and handles really well for a large car. I see evidence of Skoda cost cutting however in the quality of interior finish. In my ownership the electric mirror switch housing broke quickly followed by two window switches. The roof mounted glasses holder has broken twice. The control arm for the rear aircon vent also failed. The carpet has developed a bloom which looks like it needs a shave. Skoda market this as a family car so it should be able to stand up to family life. Based on my experiences I think the interior is a fail from that perspective. But the driving dynamic is a definite pass. I would love a VrS version, or failing that a Sportline but my wife has banned me from ever owning a Skoda again. I had to work on her to agree to this original purchase owing to a degree of badge snobbery. I think the poor quality interior explains how Skoda can comprehensively undercut the Tiguan and Q5.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
A great family car if you can put up with a poor quality cabin. Skoda has done a great design job though, both inside and out. Plenty of versatile, adaptable room coupled with a silky smooth engine/gearbox.About their car
