Retired motorist with sense. Not impressed with badge status.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Split 50/50 between those with financial good sense and the snob brigade.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes definitely and would consider a vRs model.
What are you likely to buy next?
Previous three cars have all been Subaru Legacy Estates but proving too expense to run and Subaru need a new model. VW Passat was on my short list but preferred the Octavia and hence would buy Skoda again. Better value for money.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Typical part exchange scenario even though Subaru was in excellent condition with low mileage. Had to 'fight' to obtain an additional £100 to reach my minimum exchange price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Replacement for 8 year old Subaru Legacy.
What was the dealer like?
Very pleasant, polite and well versed. Test drive well executed.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Utilitarian, the 1.6 TDI lacks any punch but is acceptable. Engine will not pull in top if revs are below 1500. In a 30mph area constantly have to change down to 3rd. Turbo a necessity for motorway overtaking. Hope next model gives better gear ratios for urban driving.
What's it like to park?
No problems thx to rear parking sensors. Nice touch that media volume is reduced while reversing so you can hear warning alarms.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Ignition key detached from key fob (loose pin) luckily found in car park after search on hands and knees! Key replaced FOC though had to drive some distance back to dealer to have key programmed after 4 week wait.
What's most practical about your car?
Easy access to lower rear seats. Controls on steering wheel Voice control excellent.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Rear space. With 2 dogs and an artist showing at Craft fairs, space is ideal. variable floor should be a standard NOT an extra.
