Skoda Octavia Hatchback (2013 - 2020) 1.4 TSI Elegance 5d DSG Owner Review

I have owned over 50 cars so far in my driving lifetime of almost 60 years, Mercedes Benz mainly, 8 or 10 different models over past 25 years, but the Octavia is more reliable, more comfortable, better on fuel, better luggage capacity (golf clubs) mainly and more pleasant to be in. It is still modern looking and very similar to current models. Foremost it is far better value than others pound for pound. The DSG gearbox is smoother than a conventional fluid box with seamless changes throughout the 7 speeds. I can't see myself changing any time soon, because I really do feel that I've found the perfect car for my needs. The £30 excise licence helps too, very reasonable main dealer servicing also. My annual mileage has increased over the past two years believe it or not and the car has been to Brittany and to Ireland twice. The only other car I've owned that comes close to the Octavia is a Saab 9000 from the 1970's. So that's saying something. These have included Lexus and BMW models.
