Skoda Octavia Hatchback (2013 - 2020) SE L 2.0 TDI SCR 150PS DSG auto 5d Owner Review

Bought the car new as I was commuting 900 miles a week at the time. Now in lockdown I’m only doing around 50 miles a week, all local journeys and worry about the DPF. I’ve had problems with the DPF on previous diesel cars. The Octavia has been 100% reliable and utterly trouble free so far. It’s good on the motorway and was exceptionally good value for money. It was such a good deal, it was cheaper than second had examples. It’s reasonably well equipped and massive inside. The engine is very torquey and has enough power most of the time. On a motorway run i usually see around 55 mpg. The only significant issue I have is with the suspension and handling. On 17 inch wheels, it seems both too soft and is harsh around town. I had a diesel Seat Leon previously which was much better in this regard. It’s so irritating I’m seriously thinking of replacing it.
