Skoda Octavia Hatchback (2013-2020) verdict

Should you buy a used Skoda Octavia Mk3?
The Mk3 Skoda Octavia still looks fresh, contemporary, and offers the sort of modern features you expect from a new car, too – particularly post-facelift 2017-on cars. Owners don’t seem to have any horror stories to tell either, and it’s long proven a car boasting very high rates of satisfaction.
We think it’s a model you really should consider, particularly if you’re seeking a super-spacious car that won’t cost you a fortune to buy or run. You can even combine this with a bit of high-performance verve, if you pick a vRS variant – which, if you choose the TDI diesel, needn’t cost you too much extra in terms of running costs.
It’s that sort of car: common-sense by the bucketload, and a car we find hard to fault. Add in the appeal of prices that offer excellent value, and it only leaves us to again echo that famous Skoda catchphrase: simply clever. Â
If you need even more practicality, however, there’s the Octavia Estate, or if you fancy something that rides a little higher, the Karoq could be worth a look.
