Wife hated the idea of me getting another Skoda Octavia - get something better she said...more expensive she said but I spent half my budget and got a cracking car - so I'm happy and if she wants a lift she can walk!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Absolutely

Guess what - another VRS Octavia.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Did the maths and consider my purchase to be at private sale money from a Skoda dealer. Month end purchase did help as they needed to shift the car.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Octavia fan so when i sold my trusty 08 plate L&K version I considered a wide variety of makes and models and then plumped for the Blackline Vrs hatchback diesel.
What was the dealer like?
Brilliant - helpful, friendly and willing to do a deal. No hassle purchase like it should be and sadly rarely is when dealing with big dealerships - unless they have the name Skoda above the door!!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Firm ride but not harsh. excellent torquey engine so motorway mileage muncher. pretty good and rewarding on fast A and B roads. punchy overtaker. Very enjoyable overall.
What's it like to park?
A cinch with bigger mirrors than earlier model and reversing sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing yet and I don't expect it to either - 08 plate earlier car exceptionally reliable.
What's most practical about your car?
Being able to put the wife's wine bottle in the door pocket or the shopping bag hooks in the boot or the parking ticket holder on the windscreen little things that are neat add ons.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
DAB radio for BBC5 live sport reception - so much better than previously appalling AM to listen to the radio.
