Skoda Rapid (2012 - 2018) 1.2 TSI SE Connect 5d Owner Review

I like the looks of the car very much, I have a silver one which I think suits the bodyshape very well. I have the 'connect' version which has a lot of features, best being the infotainment system. The interior is very nice and solid, everything is well positioned, stylish and spacious. The quality of doors and fittings is excellent. It drives well, brakes well, has a nice gearbox, and is quiet, economical and 'civilised' with no handling surprises. The engine is not sporty, but the engine has enough oomph to get you out of trouble if needed. Economy can be quite impressive if you make the effort to drive economically - I've had well over 65mpg on runs sometimes. The boot is massive - large enough for my 26" frame hybrid bicycle with the rear seatbacks moved down and parcel shelf removed.

Negative points would have to be the seats being a bit too solid for me on longer runs (I take cushions) . I live in a rural location with potholed roads, so wide tyres and the harder suspension are not plus points (On long motorway trips, the car is in it's element, though - smooth and quiet). Another minor moan is the rear seats do not fold flat.

Overall, I am quite impressed with the car, by far the best I have owned and driven in 45 years of driving.
