What does this car say about you?

I suppose it says that I am a practical careful slowish driver . I am not slow though and the car often surprises following cars with it,s urge to get up and go plus it,s handling of tight corners on the yorkshire moors and wolds.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it,s wierd.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Well I did as this is the second one. I would not buy the smaller engine versions. Since Skoda dropped the 1600 16 v petrol engine in favour of a 1.4 and a 3 cylinder 1.2 it looks like I will have to change models next time.

What are you likely to buy next?

This will probably be my last car. I bought this with only 3850 miles on the clock. I will be aiming to keep it up to 100,000 miles. If I do 5000 miles a year that will be 20 years. In 20 years I will be 103.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I,m pleased with the deal I got. The dealer was very helpful regarding changing my personal number plates. I was able to test drive the car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I previously owned the same model registered 08 owned it for three and half years and drove it 45,000 miles. Found this used model with only 3850 miles guaranteed. I wanted the same engine size and auto box.

What was the dealer like?

Edinburgh dealer with a large site. Principal was scotch born Asian and was very helpful. The car was advertised on E bay.

What's it like to drive?

I had previously owned the same model with the 1600 16 valve engine and the tiptronic auto box and enjoyed trouble free motoring. I toured France in it and drove to Calpe in Spain and back through France to Bridlington. The car handles well, much better than you would expect from a boxy tall vehicle. Cornering ability is excellent due perhaps to the electronic stabilisation. The auto box has town and sport modes and thinks faster than me giving me the right gear at al times . Manual control is possible and is useful on steep descents. The engine is smooth and powerful and handled mountain driving in Spain and France with ease.

What's it like to park?

The new car has rear parking sensors but I never use them. Reversing into parking space is average but no problem.

Nothing

What's most practical about your car?

Load space.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The tiptronic gear box is a joy to use.
