Skoda Superb Estate (2010 - 2015) 1.6 TDI CR Elegance GreenLine II 5d Owner Review

In their own words
On the good side: Excellent level of trim and equipment for the money. Very comfortable with exceptional space, especially in the back. Very low fuel costs for such a large car. Reasonable to drive, with excellent headlights. A great long distance cruiser.
Not so good: Let down by little things such as unreliable bulb holders (esp tail lights and front daylight driving lights). A poorly designed bonnet catch (sometimes wouldn't open or close without poking around with a long screwdriver). Ground clearance insufficient for campsites, ferry ramps etc.
Bad: Expensive aircon repair. Engine ECU failure ultimately leading to replacing the car completely before reaching 9 years old.
Summary: An excellent large family car with all the extras you could want, but seriously let down after about 6 years by increasing reliability problems.
How reliable do you find the car?
Several small niggles such as lamp warnings caused by poor quality bulb holders, bonnet catch problems and a small oil leak from about 80,000 miles Aircon needed new radiator at around 70,000 miles. Expensive and involved major dismantle of front of car. But... £ 1200 to replace faulty engine ECU that caused a sudden total loss of power on smart motorway. Never felt confident with it after that.About their car
