Skoda Superb Estate (2015 - 2023) 1.4 TSI (150bhp) SE 5d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
Superlatively quiet and comfortable. I'm slightly deaf and the Voice system via the radio, when volume is turned right down, is amazing. I can hear all conversation clearly in the car. Space, cruising dynamics and ergonomics are near perfect. This car ticks all the boxes for what it was designed to do. I had considered an Audi A6 or Mercedes-Benz E-Class but the price difference didn't make it worthwhile unless it's just image you're after. Also, a VW Passat was on the cards but the Skoda Superb wins on external looks, practicality and interior. The only car you'll ever need, said Jeremy Clarkson and he was so very right. I had intended to buy a diesel but was convinced by magazine road tests, that the petroland DSG gearbox was the best choice and, having not ried the diesel, manual versions, they were also right. Buy one.
How reliable do you find the car?
I had trouble finding the correct towbar from Witter. They sent one for a Passat but the brackets had to be bent to fit, so I suggest buying a car with a towbar already fitted if you require one, as it becomes expensive, circa £600.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
It tends to wallow over repeated undulations on the road and doesn't like being driven hard, engine wise and suspension wise. My Rover 75 was more competent in these respects. The Stop/Start system has caught us out a couple of times by not picking up quickly enough at junctions and roundabouts. We cannot achieve the MPG figures stated; far from it in fact, so very disappointing. If the road is damp, the front wheels will spin easily on anything but gentle application of acceleration.About their car
