Skoda Superb Estate (2015 - 2023) 2.0 TSI SE L Executive 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This is by far the best car that I've had, very refined, fast and quiet.
I wanted a petrol for environmental reasons as well as for being quieter, and went for the 220 engine which is plenty fast enough. Economy is low 40s overall, lower in the city, I can get towards mid 40s on a journey if careful. For the most part I think I could have done with the smaller petrol engine, but when you put your foot down this engine is great, and it is better for towing a caravan (limit 2000kg).
The features I am most pleased with are the led light strips inside which look great at night time, and the adaptive cruise control which is fantastic. It makes motorway driving much more relaxing. The boot is enormous (but if you're reading this then you probably already know that!) and the roll out parcel shelf is really helpful when loading.
I don't like the auto stop/start, as it sometimes turns the engine off before you've actually stopped which is disconcerting, and then when you pull away it's a bit jerky when the engine comes on and the handbrake comes off. It's ok for journeys with occasional traffic lights, but in stop start traffic I turn it off.
One common fault on these is that the high pressure fuel lines can vibrate against the car at 1800-200rpm, causing a noise that sounds like it's coming from the driver footwell/door. There's plenty of advice online about how to fix this. Something I was surprised the car doesn't have is a "4th pedal" to the right of the accelerator to rest your right foot on when cruise is on.
Overall though, this is a fantastic car and 6 months after buying it I'm still grateful to have such a lovely vehicle, especially on long journeys.
