Summary
What does this car say about you?
I am a cheeky chappie who will drive a Smart car cause it is fun to drive. I am in my 40's so street cred is out for me, plus anyone who laughs at me as they drive past - I will come looking for them in my Volvo then I will drive past them laughing.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Fun, Cheeky, how the hell does a 6ft stocky guy ever get into it - it is like a Tardis (Dr Who) it looks small on the outside but massive on the inside. My son loves it - as the ignition is by the hanbrake I let my son start the car and switch off - fantastic
Would you buy this car again and why?
Most definately this car is on finance and once the deal is up I will get myself another one. Why It is the ideal commuter car. I worked out that what I used in fuel for the Volvo for the month to and from work not only pays for the Smart car but also my insurance too!!!
What are you likely to buy next?
A Basic No Frills Smart Car ForTwo on a 59 Plate on Finance - with free mats and a rear parcel shelf if my ones now do not fit it and are not to worn.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£6,000
When did you buy the car?
December 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
I have never bought a new car before - I have always been the end user for cars - so I believe I got a good deal I had mats thrown in and a rear parcel shelf all free of charge but I did state I wanted a no frills car as it was only a commuter car.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I drive a Volvo 850 and once the petrol got to a pound a litre I wanted a small car just to get to and from work rather than my 2 tonne T5 which costs £70+ to get a full tank to return avg 300+ miles The Smart Car £35 Full Tank returns 300 miles (Running In at Present)
What was the dealer like?
The dealer was fantastic we test drove the car on 3 occasions, I wasn't pressured at all - I stated my reasons for buying and we searched the country for one - I was offered the chance to kit out the car with extra toys (alloys A/C etc) but I refused

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It is fun to drive - I have a semi auto box which you manually select the next gear but when slowing down the gearbox gears down automactically. The car dislikes hills so some times I have to gear down to scream a bit to get some extra revs to make it. Being light it wonders in the high winds on the motorway but you get used to it - it is really a town car.
What's it like to park?
Being new - I tend to park it well out of the way of other cars ( door Scratches and dents ) but there has never been any space where she won't park. the first time I parked it felt as big as my volvo as you naturally adjust for the lack of rear seats.

Nothing
What's most practical about your car?

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
No extra gadgets or accessories this is the basic model part from mats and a rear parcel shelf - you could say that after driving my Volvo 850 T5, the whole Smart Car is my Favourite Accessory...
