SsangYong Korando (2011 - 2019) 2.0 Limited Edition 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Having never owned an MPV before but as caravan owners needing something with more pulling power than our 1.8 TDCI S-,this car offered a great option to own a 2 year old car for the fraction of the price of the mainstream alternatives (Kia Sportage owners should have taken a look at this one first and saved £4k on a 2 year old used one). The car offers a good kerb weight and plenty of torque to pull a caravan up to 2 tonnes and the 2.0 147bhp diesel engine never feels challenged when towing. The badge is still not well-known but this did not put us off testing it as having read reviews and seeing some around caravan sites in the UK we felt that this was well worth a look and have not regretted it. The styling is modern on the outside and whilst not premium materials the interior is pleasant enough. Within weeks of purchasing the car we took in on its first towing run from the midlands to Cornwall and were very impressed with how it performed. The 6 speed manual offers a good range of pulling power and has returned 25-32mpg towing and up to 53mpg solo on a motorway run. There is good all round vision and the car is fairly simple to manouvre and park. The high ride position is a bonus too. We took the car on a 15 night trip over to south-west Brittany last year and again were very impressed with the performance over all. The only downside to report so far is that the fuel tank could have done with another 10 litre capacity considering this is a car that will mainly be brought by caravanners who will be averaging around 28mpg a long trip on the continent means a few more stops at the pumpo than some rivals.
