SsangYong Korando (2011 - 2019) 2.2 SE 5d Owner Review

Just over 12 months ago my wife was looking to upgrade her Hyundia ix35, the obvious choice was the newer Tucson which she eventually settled on. During my search for her, the Ssangyong Korando kept popping up, I really liked the look of it and I tried to talk her into it but because she had never heard of it, it was brushed aside! Moving on 8 months, it was my turn to start searching and of course the Korando was at the top of my list! Now i must say that i am no professional driver so i very rarely read professional reviews, i find owners reviews are the place to go, so here i am injecting my tuppence worth! I know its only been 3 months of ownership but i am very pleased with my car. It's a November 2016/ 66 plate, 35k on the clock, and it pulls like a horse!! I paid the princely sum of (drum roll please!!).........£8500!!! And, it's worth every penny! It doesn't have all the toys of the market leaders but there is enough to keep me busy, my old dad used to say "the more a car has, the more that can break". It's has 4 electric windows, air-con, Bluetooth ETC, the one serious drawback was 'no DAB' on the SE model but very easily fixed tho' by the addition of a 'Pure Highway', job sorted!! It is true what other owners are saying about the gear changes, 1st to 2nd is a bit notchy, but you get used to it. It also has a decent sized boot to boot!! There are a few rattles from here and there but I've found that loud music helps!! Ha Ha I am currently getting around 41 mpg, around town with the occasional motorway journey so I don't think that's too bad for a car this size and weight. Did I mention it pulls like a horse? haha. Overall, I would highly recommend the Korando to anyone who is looking for a great value SUV and hopefully, we'll be staying together for a few years to come.
