Summary
What does this car say about you?
It's a drivers car, it's practical but not boring. It says I have a 4x4 because I need one, not for flash.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Not much probably; apart from teh bonnet scoop and rear spoiler it's a moderatly unremarkable car to look at - it's just when behind the wheel you appreciate how special it is!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes and no - I love absolutely everything about the car except for my 3 kids getting big now and the rear seat is a bit snug, and the fuel economy isn't brilliant, which in today's harsh economic climate is a problem.
What are you likely to buy next?
Volvo XC90 D5 or Audi A6 Avant Quattro.
-
Buying experience

Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,100
When did you buy the car?
November 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a good deal as the car had been well maintained and needed nothing.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
4wd, power, performance, load capacity.
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent road car - the AWD and the turbo mean it has phenomenal real world performance and handling. You can take huge liberties and it has never bitten back, or if yo're feeling relaxed you can drive gently and enjoy a comfortable and plush ride.
What's it like to park?
No problem - excellent visibility all round, good steering lock.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Very reliable, only regular wear and tear - brakes, wheel bearing, steering pump at 118000 miles.
What's most practical about your car?
Nothing stops this car - snow, ice, hell or high water. It goes like a sports car, traverses farm tracks like a Land Rover, and is big enough for the family or my work tools and equipment.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated seats, digital radio, loud pedal.
